In the Overview tab on camelcamelcamel's product pages, there is a chart showing the price history for all of the Amazon price types we support (Amazon, New, Used). Currently, all of these are enabled by default. However, it has been suggested that we turn off Used when the page loads, with the theory being that people don't care as much about this data and we could remove it to clean up the charts.
So, the question to you is - should the Used price type be disabled by default when a product page on camelcamelcamel is loaded? You would still be able to toggle this price type if you want to see it.

1I like this idea. It would definitely help clean up the charts and make it easier to follow the Amazon and 3rd party new price histories on the charts. -

It depends on the product type. For electronics and other hard goods, I always buy Amazon or new 3rd party. For media, I almost always buy used, unless free shipping makes Amazon price competitive.
So I wouldn't be able to conclude that used prices should or shouldn't be present by default for the typical case. I haven't found the clutter to be significant, so I'd vote to keep used prices by default.
If you want to boost clarity, and can apply some SVG magic to the charts, permit the user to mouse over the key and have the corresponding chart line become bolder. -

personally, i have been buying stuff regularly from Amazon for years, and I have never bought anything used. I take that back, I bought one college textbook used back in..... 2004! gotta love order history.
so yeah, that's always the first thing i do is unclick 3rd party used. i think this is a good idea. -

Noted! I think it might be time to make this a reality...

We did indeed make the Amazon price the only price type enabled by default. The time range now defaults to "all" as well.
