I get too many emails daily from this site. I suggest we have the option to control whether or not we receive these emails every time a price changes. I have literally hundreds of items on price watch because of my wishlist import from amazon.
Perhaps a daily digest showing all price reductions for the day or from the previous week?
At LEAST an option to turn off emails.

A weekly digest might make price drop alerts somewhat pointless, given that Amazon tends to changes it prices daily.
However, you can change the email field on all of your price watches to be blank, and thus avoid the flood of emails. Just go to your price watches list, use the checkbox to "select all", then click the "edit" button. On the following page, you will be able to set the email address for all selected price watches. Leave it blank and click the "Update" button on the right of the email box, and you should stop receiving emails about those price watches. -

A global option might be worth putting into settings>account settings
Thanks for the tip :3 -

Sorry to drag this up again but every time I add something to a wishlist I have to do this all over again.
If including an email address in a watch is optional, why isn't including one by default optional as well? -

Registered users need to provide an email address so they can manage their accounts (ie, reset their passwords.)
Please correct me if I'm wrong here. Your problem is that you get too many price drop alert emails? In that case, it would make sense to separate the account email address from the one that we, by default, enter into new price watches, and let the user delete the latter if they don't want to receive alerts.
I think we should implement that. -

It's the same diff, except for the fact that without some sort of email address confirmation of ownership, this system could be abused. I just think it would make more sense to enable or disable these email notifications via a global account setting than it would be to have the end user run through the process of confirming their email address.
I understand that registered users need to provide an email address and it is certainly necessary in order for this service to operate the way it does. I'm just trying to suggest a _better_ way to manage email notifications for price changes.
I still get emails almost daily that I have to open individually, click on the link to the product on camelcamelcamel, and then edit the price watch for that product, erase the email address in the text box and hit save. Just today I've gotten 4 already. -

2The Camel team has discussed it and we agree, email settings should be global instead of per-price watch. Consider it planned, although we probably won't be launching any (big?) changes like this until after the new year. -

Where is this at? I like to get notified of changes via twitter, ands any a global "do not email me when price changes" setting. Thanks!

Jeff, you can remove the email address from your price watches and add your Twitter username. That will stop any emails from going out.
We still don't have the global setting though. -
